Pypes Exhaust

Has anybody ordered this pipes yet? Are they good quality? How is fit and finish? What do they sound like? Thinking about getting thieir full exhaust setup (x pipe w/cats and catback) at a VERY atractive price (489.00)

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

The other day, someone out here said that MRT pipes are made by Pypes. And the MRTs ain't real cheap...!
But, by the same token, Flowtech headers are made by the same people who make Hookers (Holley) - and there is a BIG difference in quality between these two.
Interesting topic though...the price is certainly right...

As long as the company doesn't have any ties to Trubendz, go for it. The MRT stuff is nice, so the Pypes parts should be too.

pypes makes the mustangtuning xpipes. i love the way it sounds!!! if you want a vid of the o/r xpipe w/ 40 series flowmasters, i have a vid of my car i can email you. send me a PM and I will be more than happy to send it your way. and if u can host it here on stangnet, please post it

better buy the mustangtuning/pypes exhaust pieces now. they are going to start going up in price. they have been at loow prices since pypes is relatively new. now that their name is out there and people have been spreading the word/sound, they are going to raise their prices.

See, now that just kinda scares me off - Their prices have been low "since pypes is relatively new. Now that their name is out ther and people have been spreading the word/sound, they are going to raise their prices." To me, that makes no sense - why when they sell more products would they find it necessary to raise their prices?
That kind of logic sends me running toward the nearest mainstream exhaust system, even if it costs more...

It's all about demand - they want to start out with a very attractive price to entice people to choose their product over a Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla, Bassani, etc. But then when it becomes THE exhaust to have, they jack up the price and make a killing. Pretty standard business practice, really.

I know this info is a little outdated but i thought I would clarify a couple of good points made in this thread..... Since Pypes inception, we have primarily sold our products direct to the consumer. That is one of the primary reasons for our low prices. Starting this Fall we have made the decision to begin marketing our products thru a dealer network and therefore prices will have to be a little higher in order to allow our dealers to make a fair profit. Also I'm sure most of you are aware of the dramatic steel industry price increases. Everyone has been affected. I can tell you that, even with the increases, you will still have to give us a second look.

btw, Pypes does not make MRT's X pipes but their products look to be of comparable quality and similar design.

yeah, i had a bad quote above, about MRT - had MRT on my mind, but it was mustangtuning that I had heard. So can you confirm what streetstang said, "pypes makes the mustangtuning xpipes"?
You do have some great prices, especially with the current worldwide steel industry crisis (some companies don't even lists prices these days...they ask you to call so they can give you a current 'market' price - like lobster!)
Anyway, I'm looking for a couple things, can you assist?
1. A catted H for my 02 with Flowmaster American Thundered Stang - the reason I'm kinda still in the hunt for an H is that I've heard that the X doesn't sound very good with chambered mufflers. Others have said a true X (with siamise pipes, like yours, sounds good with Flows...but I'm still kinda torn between the two)
2. Looking for a complete exhaust system for my wife's 01. Currently it has 2.5" twin pipes with single cats welded in, a crossover pipe welded in, then that weled into Flow 40's, then those welded into my old 02 tailpipes - it's sort of a mess of piecework welds, and I'd just like to replace it all.
What do your mufflers sound like - How are they designed - What are they similiar to? We love the Flow sound (and would consider swapping your mufflers for her 6 month old 40's - but then we start getting right back into what we are trying to get away from, piecing things together). I tried to hear the couple of sound clips available, but I get a codec error in Windows MP 9. Any other sites, pics or info available?

Yes, Mustang Tuning distributes our X pipes and their prices are very good.

1. We only make H pipes for 95 and older and we sell very few because all of our Dyno tests show that the X pipe is the better choice for most situations. Here is a link to a couple of sound clips of our 94 GT test car with both catted and off-road X pipes utilizing one of our own Cat Backs.

The Cat Back tested uses our Pro V Mufflers (formerly V-Force) 2 chamber deflector technology mufflers that are extremely similar to FM40's. It's your call on whether you like the sound. Of course we love it.

Are there any sound clips of the Pro V cat back with the catted x pipe? I am waiting on the x pipe to arrive from mustang tuning and am considering switching over to that catback.

i purchased one of their "modular" x pipes that came with cats and i was impressed with the fit and everything. the x pipe had flanges on it for easy tear down and build up. i had the cat option to swap it off and on and it rocked! i highly recommend these guys! they have excellent customer service and will work with you on shipping.
i inspected their pipe work and it had no wrinkles anywhere, it was a perfect bend! i recommend u guys give them a shot for any of your needs.
i dont know anything about their mufflers though, has anyone used them? i heard their sound clips and they sound nice!

The Cat Back consists of a pair of flow tubes, mufflers and tailpipes. Clamps and flanges are also included.

I have a Pypes x pipe with no cats and I have flows series 40 catback system and it sounds great(purchased from mustangtunning.com) The only complaint I have is broad directions or a lack of a parts list. I had my whole x pipe bolted in and I had a leak between the x pipe and my header. Here there's a little piece of pipe that is flared at one end that comes with the hardware. That piece goes inside the x pipe on the drivers side between the header and x pipe. No were on the instuctions was this mentioned. I got this answer from there customer service. I emailed them and they emailed me back the same day with the answer Now the leak is gone and everything is sounding great.

I was able to get the clips to run after downloading and installing this codec patch --->http://www.codec-download.com/modul...wnloaddetails&lid=242&ttitle=G_726_Audiocodec

And they sound good! I was actually surprised there is little difference between the H pipe and X pipe with your mufflers (which I read up on further last night, finding that they are very similiar to good ol' Flows)
