Q if you've done SN95 Brake Conversion

I am planning to change to 5 lug wheels and converting to 1994 front and rear brakes while I'm at it.While doing the front brakes,I have read about needing a .33 inch spacer between the spindle and the lock nut,otherwise it goes down too far.Is this because the ball joint is taller on the '94 or is it because the ball joint is larger in diameter?Thanks.

The balljoint is taller, so the nut won't thread down as far onto the spindle. The spacer takes up the empty space

Who makes/where do you buy the spacer?The article I read,the guy used 3 washers.

3 washers is all you need. That's how I did it and its fine.

same here... 5/8" ID thrust washers; 3 per side

If your balljoints are junk just replace them with 94 spec units. Thats what I did when I found out they were toast.

I've noticed that some guys also switch to '94 struts while others continue to use their '87-'93 struts.Why would you switch to the '94's?Any cons to going one way or the other?

I hear the '94 axles are longer I wonder if they might cause rubbing or just not look right.Are they OK to use or should I go the Ranger driver side axles route?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the 94- struts are longer. The struts you have now will work just fine.

The rear axles will work from a 94- but they are .75" longer on each side. If you are running anything wider than a 8" rear wheel you need to stick with stock length axles and buy a bracket from http://www.northcobras.com/catalog/brakes/brakes.htm
This will allow you to bolt up a 94- caliper and still use stock length but 5 lug axles.

You are correct the SN95 Struts are longer, but the SN95 Spindles also have a lower mounting point, but you will still end up with a little less travel although its no big deal.
