i have a qa1 k member installed in my 89 notchback the rag joint and steering column line up but it seems to be short the bolt wont go through anyone else have this issue?

your steering shaft is collapsable so take a flat head screw driver put it into the hole at the end of the steering shaft. Next take a hammer and tap the shaft out a little till you have the needed length.

It's hard to explain but the rag joint itself isn't adjustable. You get your adjustment through the steering column which is designed to collapse in a accident, and that's where you get your needed length. Had to take a quick look at the car. So.. the shaft that goes through the fire wall. It sticks out into the engine bay about 3-4 inches. Try to hit it out with the screw driver hammer method or what ever works until you have the needed length.
