I have just about had it with this on/off oil pressure gauge. I think i'm going to get Autometer gauge.
now, what is my choices on gauge pod(for 2. i think i'll get oil, and fuel press.)?? I dlike to get something that look like it was there befor - not one of those thing you just attatch to existing piller. like one of those full piller replacement, or replaces steering colum, or gauge trim replacement(although, all that I've found is one with defroster switch opening. my 2001 has def. switch below redio)

and where do I hook oil pressure sender to get good reading?

Look at the factory location for the oil pressure sender (at the oil cooler/filter housing for GTs I believe).

Thread the new oil pressure sender at that location - it is straightforward, probably a good idea to do this during an oil-change in order to minimize the amount of oil leaking out or spilling from the sending unit location though.

This is the second time I heard that the stock gauge is really nothing more than an idiot light. Is it true that it is "on/off" and not a measure of oil pressure?
If so, should I go mechanical or electrical for a replacement?

do you ever see the darn thing move? Other then showing 0 pressure, and pointing mid point? Oil pressure changes as RPM change. most of ford oil pressure gauge is pretty much on/off thing.
