quad shock removal???????

i heard some guy say that the car will launch better if i remove the horizantal shock in the rear
is this true? or is i would really like some advice i already took the sway bars out any other quick way with out spending $$$ thanks

Hell NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!

The Quad shocks help keep the rear end planted, Why the heck would he tell you that???? If your not running some aftermarket rear lower control arms, i would suggest not removing them. And then-I would keep'em... You want all the help you can get in the rear area for traction.

I have seen arcticles in magazine over the years that feature "Tuning Tips for drag racing" suggesting this as it is suppossed to promote/allow weight transfer. I haven't tried it yet, but I am a bit skeptical myself.

I have removed the front sway bar and found it to be effective though.

I have heard about turning them around backwards to gain a little tire clearance, but never to remove them!

yep. the guy who owned my car before me put one in backwards then when i went replace mine i notced that there was a bit more room but not really. i havn't heard of people removing them without a decent suspension setup out back

exactly. it sounds like something was read or taken out of context (i.e. nice control arms, etc out back) and running fat tires (for which the quads get in the way).
