My frigging driver's side A/C intake vent broke. You're not going to believe how though. I was sitting at a red light waiting for it to turn green. Light turns green so I slip the clutch and drive off like a normal person and I hear a POP in my dash. I figure it's just the dash shifting around so I ignore it.

Well, for no real reason I'm looking at that top vent and figure I'd "feel" the air being pulled in. I touch it and the damn thing moves. I was able to pull it out. The clip had broken off of it!!!

Now for the tech part, does Ford cover stupid stuff like this?

Are you talking about the defrost vent on the dash?

I spent 4 months looking for a Mustang before I bought my 97. I noticed alot of 99+ stangs with the defrost vent lose or bulging.

If its still under warranty it will be covered, I replace broken ac or dash vents pretty often at my dealership.
Remember its "hecho en mexico" ford quality

I'm sure if you have a warranty on your car Ford will cover it since
it is a weak plastic part.I am sure they probably break all the time.
If Ford won't cover it you can get that part from www.50resto.com
alot cheaper than the Ford Dealership parts dept.

Mine's been broken for I don't know how long and most of the time I forget about it. We have a little agreement...I don't bother it and it won't bother me.

Yeah, I have that 100,000 mile extended warranty with $50 deductible I guess I'll be going to 50resto to buy it or maybe I won't. It seems content with just laying in there and not moving.
