Most scoops --like on the Shelby or Califonia Specials, are just for looks. However, there are kits available (Maier Racing) to make the scoops functional and duct air through the quarter panel into the wheel well to help cool the rear brakes.

i should have clarifyed that, not the C.S. scoops or shelbys but little inset chrome pieces

I unloaded mine on ebay, they were in perfect shape, but I think they only brought about $20 so keep checking ebay.
