I was working on the stang today and wanted to install my new rear quarter window weatherstripping. Um, yeah I'm dumb because I can't figure out how to remove the old weatherstripping, much less install the new ones.

Please help, I've already broken my rearview mirror and that seatbelt light warning lamp today. :(

Ok call me crazy.

I just went back out there determined to take the old one out. I kinda tore the crap out of it, but in the process I figured out how the weather stripping is in the quarter window.

The rubber kinda forms a T with the actual weather seal part at the bottom of the T. The weather strip runs down the metal channel that's glued or whatever to the window, and it bends at the bottom, I guess to help it stay in place.

All you have to do is slip the old one up out of the metal channel and then slip the new one down into it.

I actually pulled the top of the old weather stripping out of the channel, I'm lucky I didn't damage the channel or window doing it that way. But, that allowed me to slide the old weather strip down. It bowed out at the bottom where it curves and then I used a screw driver to pry the weather strip out of the bottom of the window channel. Then I just pulled the whole thing up and out of the groove.

Putting the new one in was easy. I wet the T part down and then slipped it into the groove. As it got down to the bottom I bent the weatherstrip and inserted it into the channel on the bottom of the window.

Hey I'm just glad I didn't break anything else. I took pics and I'll post them on my website for future reference. Boy do my hands smell like that rubber wetherstrip now.

if it is 67-68 years it can't be replaced without separating window from frame, and to separate them you have to remove the front frame part (screwed) to slightly open the remaining two. Take out the whole assembly and do it on the nice clean desk, not in the car.
