Hey guys, I purchased a Bassani catback and xpipe. I plan on putting it on sometime, but right now I'm living with my parents and they do not want it to be loud at all. I already have the catted x put on and it changed the tone a little but only at cruise, not at idle and not noticeable at all. I'm giong to be running cats, so I was wondering, if I put on the catback will it be very noticeable to where my parents will notice that I changed it out? The only time they will hear it is when I pull into the garage and pull away from the house... which is like 30ft away before I make the turn.

You guys with the same exhaust setup, please chime in.

I have that set up and yes it will be louder when you install the catbacks. I have the baffles in which quite it down some. The car is fairly calm sounding at idle but when you get on it or start it up it is very noticable. I would say they will notice since you are parking in the garage. Good luck.

Hiding mods from mom & dad, eh?

Yeah, the exhaust sound level/noise will be slightly increased with the addition of the catback. Probably enough at start-up to be noticed IMHO, but you could always feed your parents a line of BS. It probably depends on how old and/or keen your parents' ears are to be honest. LOL

Well if it was my parents, they wouldn't notice if I pulled up in a newer '03/'04 Cobra....hmmm...I think I could pull up in a bus and they wouldn't notice (somethings different about you son, did you cut your hair?).

Well, Cobra90gt is right

If you keep the baffles in and not get on it while pulling into and out of the garage, again depending on your parents you might get away with it. But without the baffles, forget it! Damn night and day without baffles. I love it!!!

Is it the street comp or the Quiet Thunder? The QT with Baffles and a catted X-pipe is going to be quiet as hell.

I am running an offroad Xpipe, and Street Comp Bassani catback with no baffles. Its LOUD. Very tolerable inside the car, but it friggen roars outside.

I wasn't aware that there were two different kinds of Bassani exhausts. When I ordered them I wasn't asked either.

My catback has the 4 inch tips with the baffles in it.. I don't know what the difference between the two are.

Well I put it on.. and yes, it's very quiet at idle. My dad is out of town at the moment but when he gets back he'll definately notice. My mom didn't even look twice at the 4" tips, lol.

I always thought that the 99+ cobras get the QT catback, and the 96-98 Cobras get the Street comp catback. If you look on Bassanis website under the BX series (aluminum), they have 3 different kinds of catbacks available. (so they say) QT, Street comp, and racing series.

But I also heard that they all come with Street COmp mufflers, but the QT series get baffles. Mine didn't come with baffles.

All I personally know is my setup is loud as hell, definately has almost completely broken in. I am loving it.

I have the same. They are huge on the car!!! Yes the xpipe and the catback together will be loud. I think the neighbors secretly hate me but I get looks from everywhere.
