Hey people, first off I'm new to the forum and new to owning a Ford. I, by choice, have never owned a car with a Cat. Converter. I recently aquired a 90 LX, 4 banger to play around with. Car has alot of possibilities, just don't tell the wife, While driving the car doesn't go faster then 20 mph. Is is possible that the Cat heated up at one time and clogged up?? How can I check it and not break the bank??

well

wha you do first is get the exaughst(sp ) off the car then onthe first "pre cat" the small one, you take a metal rod of some sort and ram it down in there and kock the catalyst out of itthe check it lol naw just gutem both unless you have emissions of course im like you none of my cars have cats on them just casings of cats

you could drive the car around for a few and look under it and see if they are glowing ( at night of course) if it does it all the time it might be a fuel or timing issue do aquick check on the timing and fuel and al the basics and report back thatll help us help you
