question about catalytic converters

There are a lot more details, but basically it boils down to the metal ones taking heat better. They are typically for F/I setups as they handle heat pretty well. The ceramic based cats are more for N/A, stock apps

Thats good to know, if I ever switch back to catted-x, because my car DESTROYED my stock catted- h-pipe w/ just 11.5 lbs of boost (and me always in boost, lol) in under 5,000 miles...the front of the cats is pink/burned, and the back is fine, they got so clogged up/broken that the headers began leaking at the welds (lucky i didnt blow up my motor) and I heard a story on hear a few weeks ago about the same thing happening, but he lost his motor!!
