i bought an offroad x pipe before i had ever planned on building a motor. the x pipe is for shorty headers but since i'm building a 347 it only makes sense to go with long tubes so anyone have any experience with cutting a x pipe and having it fit for long tubes?

i'm looking for prices for a local muffler shop to do, i'm pretty sure this is out of my skill level

Thats what I did but I wish I hadnt. In the end you only save a little money as mid pipes arent that much anyways and you can sell the one you have now. The one I have is almost completly re-made except for the X part and It doenst look as good with all the extra welds. Cough up the extra $ 40(mine was $75 to be cut and trimmed) and get a new mid pipe. You can have mine if you want....
