I just got my car back from mediablasting and it has a rough finish, not like smooth sheetmetal. I figure i can just lay my epoxy primer over it. is there any surface prep i need to do?:SNSign:

You would definately want to wipe it off with a wax and grease remover. Go to www.hotrodders.com They have a wealth of painting and body info.

Nope. As long as the surface is wiped clean with a good cleaner ( I use House of Kolor's water-based, post sanding cleaner) and is rust free, it's actually a benefit to have a rough surface. After you spray the epoxy, you'll be either doing body work, or laying down one of the polyester surfacers or whatever. My point is you'll be doing final prep like blocking to get the surface ready for paint and you'll never know the metal was rough by the time it's ready for paint.
