I just bought one of these as my first car and I love it but there are a few issues. One of them is that the cruise, automatic mirrors?, odometer, and the triptometer do not work. I believe this may be because when the previous owner put in the new engine which has 81K miles on it they didn't hook these things up. (maybe not the mirrors, maybe they just don't work because I don't think they have anything to do with the engine.)
I don't know a whole lot about cars either so that doesn't help. Also the back window of the convertible top's seal has broken at the top so water can get in, is there any way I can seal that even for a short time? And whenever I was cleaning it not too long ago I made the alarm go off and it was AWFUL! I couldn't get it to go off for the life of me. I had to just wait for it to go off. It isn't a keyless entry and I don't know if the alarm is stock or aftermarket. We ended up have to disconnect the battery to reset the alarm because it was ignition locked. I believe there may be some kind of code to stop the alarm? Maybe flipping on the blinkers and doing weird stuff like that. Maybe someone can enlighten me on this.
I bought the car for $2900 and heres a link a link to a album off pictures of it. Tell me what you think of my buy and if you think it was worth it!

well to address the issue on the keyless entry, most mustangs from ford had keyless entry but didn't come with a remote, the keyless entry module is in the trunk behind the drivers side carpeting on the wall. To turn the alarm off i only know of putting the key in and turning it to the on postion. the problem with the instrument cluster is probably a stripped gear inside the cluster and the cheapest and easiest way to fix that is buy a instrument clust from another mustang. The mirrors are probbly not hooked up or something, youd have to take the inner door pannel apart and look at the connections. the cruise control might be like mine and that is he put the buttons on the steering wheel but the computer isn't programmed for cruise control, and you can have that done by a ford dealership for $100. Also the convertible top would either be seal it with silicone, or something or buy a new top.

Actually, if the speedo, cruise, and odometer are not working, the Vehicle speed sensor on the drivers side of the transmission is either not plugged in or not working. It has the nothing to do with the computer. As for the mirrors, check the fuses first ( ALL OF THEM). after that, you can use a test light on the switch to make sure it has power. If it does, replace the switch

Although you bring up good points that maybe the problem but it would have everything to do with the computer if has never had cruise programmed into it and if that is the problem then the clusters plastic gear is stripped.

If you walk out to your car and unplug the VSS, 3 things will stop working.. the odometer, cruise, and speedo. He said he swapped engines, not computers.. I can guarantee you its a Vss issue.. it may also cause a low speed idle/dying problem as well

I understand. But you are implying multiple unlikely things to be wrong. if im wrong, i'll eat my words like a man, but odds are on my side. I've had an sn95 for 9 years now and have been thru every inch of it...

Speaking of... if you want your dashlights to be blue, you need white Leds, not purple.. the factory cluster uses blue film to make green because stock incandescent bulbs produce a yellowish light.. blue plus yellow makes green.. I would also suggest buying them from superbrightleds.com they won't burn out..

And you need a steering wheel puller tothe remove the steering wheel. I've replaced that too..
