I bought MAC 1 5/8 unequal length shorty's tonight. One of the collector studs is broken in half, but it is a screw in; not weld in...

Can I take out a stud from my stock header and put it in it's palce, or are they different sizes? Can I get a replacement stud from the autoparts store? Thanks for any replies in advance.

I broke one in a Mac header once (only time I'll ever try them) and I got another from PepBoys...I'd rather have a new one than an old one for a couple bucks...

I don't like Mac, but I have replaced the collector stud in some shorties with a bolt of same size and little bit more length. It worked fine.

Cool, thanks guys.

EDIT: Might I be able to use a stud from my stock headers?

I bought studs for my stock headers, they were like $1.43 each. The threads in the flange were screwed up when I had to drill out the stock rusted stud. A bolt and nut hold to the flange and then another to the flange on the midpipe works fine. Hell of alot cheaper then a new stud. Of course I learn this the hard way.

That's the next thing I'm going to do. Break out the drill. It's 7:00 am. I wonder how the neighbors will like that?

Oh yeah, for $1.43 I'm getting a replacement stud from an autoparts store. lol.
