See sig for full mods list...

So here is the deal, I have always heard about pinging but haver never experianced it myself, but I think that may be what I have going on... Here is what the car is doing. When I am driving in any gear I think, but I can definately hear it in second and third from 2k to 3k I can hear what sounds like a faint exhaust leak, well not to sound like an idiot but a "Pinging" sound. It seems to only do it between 2-3k most notable between 2500 and 3000 after 3k it goes away. It also seems to do it more at half to 3/4 throttle. Is this a normal sound or is my car pinging? I just filled up with 91 octane gas and the sound seems to have gone away but I am not sure... Anyone have any thoughts? Thank You all in Advance.

It "sounds" like an exhaust issue. Have you inspected all the midpipe joints?

Sounds like you may have an exhuast leak to me.
Pinging is generally only noticed at lower rpm's and will sometimes go away. have you ever heard a car deisel... keep running after they shut it off. OR put your car in a higher gear and try driving up a steep hill that's more what pinging sounds like.
BTW I don't reccommend tring it so you know what it sounds like.

Assuming that the engine is in good health and is using good fuel/correct octane level, it shouldn't ping even when going uphill in higher gear.

umm yeah but let's say for example your using junky 87 and are taking off from a 10mph roll in 5th gear up a steep hill. It will.
