so it feels like the key being used is not the right one (i know it is, but goin for symptoms). have you tried jiggling the key around in there (and pulling it back out a smidge)? could someone have jambed something in your lock slot?94 Mustang GT said:I know this dont apply to the actuator but i was wondering if anyone could help me with the door lock. My driver side lock will not open with the key, the key will go in but it will not turn my dad tried using graphite on it and it still will not work i was wondering if anyone else knows something i could do to fix it. at first it wasnt a very big deal but it is starting to be a very big deal![]()
the cylinder mechanically turns, which moves a rod and linkage in the door, IIRC. worst case, pop the door inner panel and check it out. it should be pretty cheap to pop the lock cylinder out and have a lock smith rekey it (if it is worn out). if you do it yourself, there is a U-shaped clip that holds the cylinder in the door, and a piece of linkage to undo.
good luck.
