Question about rear axle

How do I extract the rear axles from my 89 GT? I have removed the bearing covers on either side of the gear. Do I have to pull the ring gear to get at the c clips?

I think you should be able to rotate the diff. around (turn the driveshaft) so you can get to the c clips...

You have to remove the small bolt, I think it was 7 or 8 mm and then slide out the diff pin, then you can push in on your axles to have access to your C Clips
