question about replacing center section

I am going to be changing the center section on my 72 soon, I have a replacement that I am still working on cleaning up. Is there a gasket that goes between the center section and the axle that seals everything up so the gear oil doesn't leak, or do you just use RTV?

I used both, very thin layer of RTV on both sides of the gasket. Biggest deal I think is using the correct crush-washers (I don't know the right term) to ensure no leaks.

Ive always just used RTV. YMMV.
