ok so i have a friend who has a notchback-88. he took some seats out of a 95 and put them in his car and it looks really sweet. well i have an 87 gt hatch, i want to do the same thing cause i need to replace my seats or at least have them reupholstered. but i was wondering how this would effect my back seat seeing that in the hatchbacks they fold down. is there anyway to work that out?

Works fine with about 2 hours of work. I have 2002 seats in my LX hatch. Here are some pics of the fronts and backs

Here is a post with more pics of my rear seat conversion:

It works very nicely!

I put 99 stang seats in my 88 GT. Bolted right in, feel great. So the rear seats would work 2??? I looked at them when I grabbed the bucket seats and they were designed differently, formed different on the bottom. Well, still can't figure out how to get the pic the right size to attach, so here is a link to my car domain page w/pics of my interior.

Sure do!

Read my brief instructions in the thread I posted above and click on the links to the other pics. It took me about 2 hours to figure it out and test fit everything for the first time. I did have to cut out probably 30% of the foam and some of the wires from the seat bottom just so it would fit. There is a gap between the front edge of the seat itself and the floor in the back, but I plan to cut some wood fillers and cover them with the carpet, so it will fit up flush with the seat bottom.
