what exactly is a shift kit for an automatic? MY car is a weekend
driver and I do not take it to the track, but if a shift kit will make
it faster and more fun to drive than the slushbox, I would consider
installing one. Also any type of pricing would be great.

It's a great thing for Auto's I had a 2000 Auto before my New 03 5spd!
You will feel the shifts and you can hold shifts like if you put it in (2) it will start in (2) not go from 1 then to 2 and (D) will go from 1-2-3 like before but will shift hard and firm and I LOVED mine it would chirp the wheels and you could really feel the shifts!
Use TRANSGO Trust me they have the best kit .
It's something that you can do BUT pay the $75 and have someone who dose it for a living!!
Good Luck!

I also got a Trans-Go and love it to death. ALOT of guys will sit here and bash the TransGo, but mine has been flawless for 10,000 miles and I know several other people who have had no problems.

The great thing is that you don't know you have a shift-kit until you really get into the throttle. Around town you would never know its there, get on it and you'll rip second and chirp third like never before.

Mine was $250 for the kit, install and tranny cooler.

Which brings up another point, if you get one get a Transmission cooler. It'll keep your fluid good longer and prolong your tranny life. Go to summitracing.com and order the B&M in my signature.

Thanx Red35th. Bythe way, when you install one of these, do you actually
have to shift it yourself, or does it work the same way as a normal AOD.
Stupid question?

5 steps to transmission happiness:

1. Go to TCCoA.com.
2. Go to "Tech Articles".
3. Go to "Transmissions".
4. Open "Transmissions 101" and read it all, especially Chapt. 13 & 14 (give or take a chapter).
5. Do the J-mod!

Enjoy the quick shifts.
