I wanted to get rid of the big ugly power steering pump bracket on my 92. I found the March powder coated bracket for cheap, but now I cant get the damn pump out of the old bracket. Anyone help? Pictures? Schematic?
Take off the whole assembly bracket and all, if I can remember right, there are a few bolts that you have to get from the other side that hold the pump and resivour to the bracket.
you are trying to just get the bracket off the pump (the bracket comes out of the car with the pump)?
if so, Jason is right on. i think it is 3 bolts that hold it in. air tools or a very careful positioning in a vice would work. then the snail should come off.
On most Mustang 5.0's the pulley must be removed from the pump to get the pump out of the bracket. You need a puller. Most parts stores carry them.
The whole assembly will come off the engine together though. Then you can take it to a parts store or shop to remove the pulley, if you need the bracket.
