I was out tinkering on the stang today and realized someone had cut a hose. I tried to take a pic but not sure if you can really make heads or tails of it. The item in question isnt the pulley. I know what that is. Im refering to what is up in upper left hand corner of the pic. If you are standing in front of the car....it is directly down in front on left side of radiator. one of the hoses has been cut but I dont know what this is or what function it served.

It's your vapor canister, sometimes called a charcoal canister. It recycles fuel vapor into the system and keeps it from escaping into the atmosphere.

The hose that goes there routes up under the upper intake in the front. There should be a solenoid or something connected to it I believe.

A lot of people remove it altogether.

You will throw a code if the solenoid is removed though.

You really should hook it back up. That is what prevents gas fumes from your fuel tank breather from getting out. The main line runs from the canister back to the breather plug on the gas tank.

Yeah it will help getting rid of that gas smell. Definitely hook it back up.

I will have to figure out exactly where that runs back to and connects. The PO of this car was completely retarded...but I guess that could be said also of myself for undertaking this project...LOL
