hi, i have a 95GT with the AODE auto, and i was reading on here the other day about a guy with an auto saying that the motor would rev quite a bit before power actually hit rear wheels, I am actually having the same problem with my stang I think, my car when i punch it will rev hard for probably 2 seconds before i can feel anything even working,it doesnt do it when im driving normally but im sick and tired of getting beat by pontiav GTP's this shouldnt be happening should it? Anyways i think it was MLP sensor on tranny or something he said the part was $24 at autozone
If i could get some good info back on this it would be much appreciated thanks.


Yeah ive had eclipse turbo's but theres no better thing than feeling v8 power to eat the rice

I was the guy with the problem(still am). Normal driving it kinda loses power between shifts but when you get on it it revs high then gets the power.

my car also has a shift kit in it

my car doesnt have a shift kit in it, and some guy was saying on here that there is a part that u can get from autozone that makes **** right? i can find out the name of the sensor on monday, but im just wondering if my car is really this slow??????? or is something wrong? i mean i lost to a honda civic , although it does have a b18 in it, but it made me look like a bitch, it had atleast 6 car lengs in the quarter is this right?

thats just an automatic acting like an automatic. Get a stall convertor and all will be changing....fast!

I had the same problem with my AODE it turned out that there is some sort of cable for the passing gear that was all gummed up and dirty and it was sticking and wouldn't engage right away.

It mostly happened when I was going about 40 to 60 mph and gunned it hard, the engine would rev really high then it would kick in and it felt like the rear end was gonna rip right out from under the car!!!!!!!!

All my machanic did was clean the cable and I haven't had a problem since!!!!!

Dont worry 95Red, I am also having that problem. Is the sensor you are referring to called the Tranmission modulator? I am not sure if we are equipped with that. According to AutoZone website this part determines when the tranny should shift. I tried to look it up in the Haynes and Chilton manual but could not find it.

It could be a number of things. But it sounds like the piston seals are wearing out from old age and they arnt sealing untill they get enuf pressure. Mine was doing the whole have to give it gas before it moves thing. When I rebuilt it the seals fell out and my first gear clutches where metal on metal. There is alot of good aode info on www.tccoa.com unter tech then tranny.

hey can anyone help me out???? and how hard is it to put new seals in tranny? thanks to anyone that replies

I just looked at my tech book. How long has it been since you changed the fluid? What color is it? To change the seals you have to completely disassemble the trans. This is what I would do.

Go to www.tccoa.com And look up tranny 101 under tech and there should be a parts list on there with some new accumulators and springs. The 94-95 trans have old style accumulators and they will start to leak. I think the cheapest way would be to change out these parts and modify the valve body and re torque it back in there. It explains how to do this and I have a link for a video of an aode tear down and rebuild if you want to look at it. Read up on the site and let me know if you have any questions.
