I'm outside right now, changing my fuel filter. Now, as I'm doing this, I wanna release my fuel pressure in the lines. So I mosey on over to my hood, open the valve, start to release the pressure, and a whole wack of fuel comes out. I know this is a good thing, I'm releasing pressure....but how much fuel's gonna come out of this thing? Am I looking at emptying my gas tank? Cause that's what it looks like...there's a lot of fuel spewing out every time i push the pin...just wanna know before I end up out of fuel. Dumb question, but just have to ask it. Thanks!

There's just a lot of pressure in there. I can't recall if the stock fuel tank caps are vented or not, but go ahead and open the tank to equalize any pressure and try it again.

yeah, did that before i started the depressurization, but still to no avail. It's spewing....but I guess this solves the question on whether or not i'm getting fuel pressure

I guess I can just keep trying till it runs out

To release the pressure simply unhook the plug from the fuel shutoff switch located behind the driver's side tail light. It is the small grey box with a red button behind the trunk's carpeting. The harness plugs in to the bottom of the box. After you unplug it crank the car over a few times. The engine may start and sputter a bit before it dies. Then your fuel system will be free of all pressure.

thanks S/CBlack95GT, that worked excellent, and the change went without any other difficulty. Mind you, they don't tell you in Chilton's Manuals that you have to take off the bracket holding the filter. I'm not sure if it's always the case, but my fuel lines were in the way, so i had to unbolt it all. Done deal though, that's one driver maintenance deal I can honestly say I've always overlooked. Let's hope my driveability is a little better now! Thanks again!
