I just bought a new Autometer triple pillar ( #12101 ) to replace the dual pillar in my car. I noticed that the triple pillar has a small dimple in the middle near the top of the middle guage pod. I did a search and looked at some pics on here, and I think they all have it, but it's hard to tell. Does anyone else have this dimple in their pillar? It looks like its in about the same spot as the middle screw on the factory pillar. Any pics would be appreciated.

I just ordered one. It'll be here tomorrow...I'll let you kn ow.

But tell me...Did you install the gauges yourself?

Also, does the a pillar piece snap on or screw on?

Cool, thanks.

I installed the guages myself. The pillar installs over top of the stock piece using the supplied plastic pushpins. You have to drill small holes in both pillars, and you will need to make a fairly large hole in the stock pillar so you can run your wire , etc. through it

I took the old pilar out and installed the tripple one in it's place. I put a screw right where that "dimple" thing you talked about. Worked fine for me.

So one screw holds in the entire pillar?

Does it hold tight?

That sounds like the place I put my screw. It does kinda "clip" in at the top and bottom as well. Mine seems to hold fairly tight. No problems.

I have a screw in the dimple also...I put a screw in the top too. I have a vert though so I dont know if you can get to it with a hardtop.

So the screw only holds the new pillar to the old pillar (you drill first right) ? or does the screw go in a stock hole?

I don't know if it's the same as a hatch/coupe, but there is a screw at the base of the pilar also. Then on verts a metal piece holds the top in place.

Apples to oranges a little (the fox vert only has a dual pod), but on the 94Gt, I used the pillar pod in lieu of the stock pillar. I have one screw affixing the pod (it goes through metal in the actual A pillar). And since the bottom is an interferance fit and the weather stripping goes over the pod, it holds just fine IMHO.

Good luck.

Well, if you dont put the screw all the way through to the outside of the car, where do you put the nut?

Please folks, DON'T do this (I can envision the PM now. "You said.....")
