My xe262ah's are being installed now and I DID have the springs installed with them. I think it is always a good idea to have the springs put in, especially since they only cost about $150 or so. Then again, mine isn't finished yet...

yea i have the springs im in the middle of installing mine right now and im seeing what a PITA its gonna be to put them in plus i woudlnt mind have $169 to go toward longtubes i found on comps site where you only need springs if you have more than .550 lift so i called them and they said that they reccomend it with any cam but it is not necessary its more of a safety precaution so im just wondering if i can save some time and some money

I've been told that these cams don't REQUIRE the springs also, so I can see your reasoning for not wanting to install them, especially since you're doing it yourself. You should be alright without them I think, just be careful.

VT stg 1s have .550 lift....I didnt instal springs. Cams went in @ 23K and now @ 48.8K with MANY 6200RPM shifts, a few hits to 6500, and 0 problems . If you want to then thats fine...its always a good idea, but not required

Dont the stock pi cams have .550 lift? im pretty sure they do so you shouldn't need new springs. but if you have your cams off you might as well get the springs and i would get new cam followers too. Jesel makes some that work with the stock lash adjusters. Cam followers linkhttp://www.jeselonline.com/index.php?categoryid=29&
