Hi All,

I just purchased a really nice 66 Stang with a 351W. The problem is that it currently has a "tear drop" hood due to the engine clearance needed. Does anyone know if there is a low profile intake manifold/carb combination that would allow me to use a stock hood?

Any help would be appreciated.

Eric

a performer, performer rpm and stealth all will fit under a stock hood with a low profile air cleaner.

Don't be quick to ditch that tear drop hood, those were period correct drag race pieces. Check it out before doing anything with it.

Thanks for the info. I don't want to get rid of the hood just have the option to run it both ways.

Thanks again!

the Torker 351 is a low single plane that works pretty well if you got a hammer under the hood

the 65 style motor mount is another option...( it will lower the motor about an inch) i tried the performer, and also the stealth before i bit the bullet and went with the shelby hood...

Yeah, I like the Torker idea.
It's a really mild single plane intake, but is 'stock height'.
Same as the iron intakes, Performer, etc...
The RPM and Stealth fit with low air cleaners, as mentioned above.
