i have a ford chrome oil dipstick tube. my original one got all bent up after installing new headers. do i have to remove the headers from the head. i can slide it in but when i get to the flared part it will not budge. im on my second one, wrecked the other trying to install it.whats the trick.

The stock tube has a rolled section about 1" from the end of the tube. This serves as a stop to keep the tube from going any farther into the block. I haven't seen any of the replacement tubes, but my guess is that they would be made the same way.
