Noticed something interesting today. I decieded to turn my timing down today since I had turned it up when I went to the track. Anyway. I decieded to check timing with the spout in and at idle its at about 20 and when reved will go as high as 40....? That cant be normal can it. Car runs great otherwise with exception of pining I get on 87 if i am not at 8-7* timing base but runs SUPER HARD. Is that normal timing curve for our cars?

Keep in mind, when things are moving that fast, the spark has to be initiated sooner so that it can completely ignite the air fuel mixture.

Trust me I know that. I was just curious didnt realize the stock pcm ran so much timing. lol. Cuz for some reason I read somewhere that the PCM on the foxes topped 26* total timing on the A9L so I was like damn 40* thats a lot, lol. Just making sure everything was kewl.

Know what you mean

The same goes for the 94-95 pcm's as well as far as WOT is about
26 total

When you are under a light load
or
You might say just on a casual cruise

It would not be out of the normal to see low to mid 40's for a spark value
