Question on suspension upgrade

Im thinking of running the eibach pro street coilovers that are around $1200. Does anyone have opinions on them, the only reason im looking for them is because i want my stang SLAMMED to the ground. Or if there are any springs out there that could give me the drop of that height, which is around 2.5 to 3 inches.

i dont think you realize how low 2-3 inches really is... if you are planning on going that low plan on spending 100k at least on a tow truck to be able to move your car... otherwise it stays parked... and good luck driving it.

The general consensus is that H & R Supersports are the LOWEST you should go with a 2.0 and a 1.8 drop

2.5-3 is just not logical

plus with all that audio in the rear itll prolly drop the 1.8 rear drop from the H & R's to 1.9 or 2.0 in the rear...

i agree,i just put my h&r super sports on tonight and its low with isolators in,dont go any lower trust me

Air Ride Technologies had a airbag system that would lower 3" and raise 2" from the stock location, look up some info on them, I wouldn't recommend a perminant 3" drop

With an air suspension kit can you drop it to any ride hight you want and ride around?? also hows the ride with airbags???

Then why would the maximum motorsports "Maximum Grip Box" include front and rear coil-overs?

I would do coil overs if I had the $$ Quick/simple ride height adjustability, less weight, and coilover springs permit the use of very high wheel rates to reduce body roll and brake dive without hurting ride quality.

www.ridetech.com Im gonna put bags on my 63 Merc. Can lay frame when parked. Cruise the shows slammed to the ground, and be able to drive with it feeling just like a regular spring suspension. Just need to be able to mount air tanks, and compressor. They can take up quite a bit of space. On a SN 95 Mustang it lists normal ride is 2" lower than stock, and when fully deflated it drops it 5" lower than stock!!!

that could make a great theft deturent! setup a key for the controls and lock the car down to the ground

Why is that. I had coilovers on my 99GT and never, ever experienced a problem.

I looked into them but never really could find any input. I could not find any reviews.

IMO if you want to go that low you do coilovers, bag it, or do a combinaton drop. you can get k-members that will drop the car say 1" the do a 2" spring. you will not find any off the shelf 3" drop springs as that is getting pretty low. nice thing about bags or eve coilovers is you can fine tune you drop.

if you really go with a 3" drop the car is going to start to get low. you may want to cosider plus sizing the tire a little bit to give you a bit more ground clearance wile eating up the wheel well and mainting the low look but give you a tad bit more clearance. then agian I don't like scraping at all. I have 45 series right now on the car due to this and I am only 1.75 down.

if you want to go the budget route I would do MM coilover up front. then do ajustable rear control arms in the rear. this will give you the ability to lower both ends to desired hieghts being a bit easy on the pocket book as you really need rear control arms anyway.

one draw back to an air ride is mounting the tank. eats up already limited trunk space.

I have H&R SS springs and it could be lower, def not an extreme drop by any means.


Get adjustable coilovers, and slam the bitch, just make sure you dont have your tires rubbing.
