questions about my intake

Well i got my intake in 2days ago.Well i got it off ebay and the guy said it was stage 2 ported and it was in good condition.Im kinda mad about the crack and the bolt that came with it.Can i use my stock bolts?Should i fix the crank,the bolt still goes in fine.Go to the link to look at the intake pics.Let me know if its good porting.

The porting looks good and as long as the bolt grabs on it'll be fine. Now for something you may or may not know about installing a 93 cobra on our cars. Since the cobra already comes with the egr built into the "snout" adding the elbow will only move thing a lot further. Meaning you will have to fab up something to make your throttle linkage reach, you will also have to fab up your air intake tube to fit as well. But if you're converting to a fox tb set up then disregard what I just said.....

Yea,im doing the fox tb swap.I got a 1" spacer with the intake,will that allow the intake to fit with my stock hood?

a 1" spacer will not fit under a stock hood even with the blanket removed. are you using aftermarket valve covers? if not, the spacer isnt even necessary.

I disagree. I currently have a 94-95 FMS SVO manifold with a Trick Flow 1" spacer on my car and it fits even with the blanket on.

i have the tubular gt-40 intake with a 1" spacer and no blanket and it fits under the stocker hood

You are gonna see the bulk of the porting if you look at the lower and the other end of the ports.

really? my gt40 practically sat on the stock hood with a 3/8" spacer. thats weird. at any rate, if you are using stock valve covers, the spacer isnt necessary at all.

Well i disagree as I run the 93 cobra intake on my '95 GT and it will not fit under the stock hood with a 3\8" spacer as it TB PCV tube rubs on the inside of the hood slight with no spacer. the 94\95 Cobra intake is shorter than the 93 cobra intake and he's got a 93.

The lower intake bolts are the same, two of the upper intake bolts are the same, but the other 4 upper bolts are different. You'll need to get 2 5\16"-18 x 6.05 and 2 5\16"-18 x 6.85 bolts. I bought the GT40 bolt kit from ford racing and it had all of the upper bolts except for the 6.85" bolts. I went to Lowe's and got two 5\16-18 x 7" bolts with two washers and it worked perfectly. You can also reuse your stock TB studs. From the pic I see you'll need to go to 50resto and get a Fox vacuum tree, it'll make life much easier for you. If you have any more questions about making the 93 cobra work PM me and I'll tell you what I did.
