I'm thinkin about getting the steeda #19 cam. Im going to be replacing some lifters and my harmonic balancer and timing chain. So I thought I mise well throw in a cam. Anything I need to know about it, like clearance problems with my pistons and stock heads. also will the swap be worth it?

Beware of the stock valve springs... you may want to have them upgraded while your at it.

YES!

Add valve springs and valve seals to that list.

You won't have any clearance problems with your pistons and stock heads. The Steeda #19 cam can give you idle problem such as stalling and surging.

I don't plan on having these heads on forever. I plan to get a fresh set of heads within a year. Either Afr's or twisted wedges. How would this cam run with those heads?

yea I plan on getting afr 165's and either steeda#19 or crane 2031. What else should I upgrade with these swaps? Such as valve springs, and such...

The stock AFR valvetrain should work fine with either of those camshafts. You will need a pushrod length checker to see which size pushrod you'll need. You may want to replace your lifters too.

I had to run longer PRs with the 19.....6.290 to be exact...thats with Thumper E7s....

Id' like to see someone throw a 2031 in theirs...no one recent has done one?? Plenty of 19 users..
I had some idle issues at first...you can almost expect some..at first i had some hot start/die issues....putting my MAF in the fenderwell all but cured that...fan wash i would guess was the cause...
I had some random stalling, few and far inbetween, but still there...i most recently set the idle to 850 and re-set all the idle stuff from scratch...not a problem since then...all fine..i do run a Fox TB set-up tho...
i'll get an occasional sput here and there, but oh well...thats the price...overall its fine...3k up to redline is sweet...
you can expect some low end bucking to...cams dont like the low rpms/speeds to much...
gears really help with that...

OH YA...more than enuf on the PV clearance...I clayed mine twice...mucho room...and my E7s were milled....
