I need to know whether the pistons which I have ordered for my 289 f/b will work ok with Edelbrock performer rpm heads. The pistons are Keith Black Silv-O-Lite Signature Series Pistons flat top, hypereutectic, cast piston set. It is just that the Edelbrock site says that aftermarket pistons have to be notched for clearence .... and I don't know if these are. I don't want to order the heads if they wont be compatable. Also it states that they will not accept rail rockers ... but what rockers do I need?? Also it is unclear if these heads come with rocker studs ... anyone bought a set recently that could let me know on that one. Are these the best heads for value and performance that I should be buying? I was going to use a Comp cams Magnum 280h cam together with my existing weiand stealth 180 manifold with a holley 650 carb ... would this be a good combination? My buddy says to ditch this lot and go for a full *dyno matched* Edelbrock setup with cam, inlet manifold etc.

I am not an engine rebuilder, but I do know there is a difference between notched and flat top pistons. If they are saying to use a notched piston, its because the valves need the clearance to avoid hitting the piston, as apparently it would if you had flat tops.
