Quick 351W question

I have a '69 Mach 1 with the 351W engine, and I was wondering what the combustion chamber volume is on the stock heads? I can't seem to find out on google or searching the forum. Thanks.

as i recall they run between 64 and 68 cc's on the early heads. later ones went as much as 77 cc's

Going by the books, the 69-70 windsor heads were 60.4 cc's.

Cobraii351 is right if they are the C9AE or the D00E heads they have the 60.4cc combutsion chambers.

I'm going to say in the range of 60-64cc. I know what the book says, but I also know of FE heads that were cast in the same places around the same time and they vary by about 4cc as well. Almost never smaller than advertised, 99% of the time they're bigger than smaller. Typically the chambers are all within .4-.5cc of each other at worst.

Also don't fall for the trick of 4V heads vs 2V heads. They are the same heads. The 4V motors had flat top pistons thus increasing compression ratio, whereas the 2V had the valve reliefs. Just an FYI

That's good to know. I thought the 4v heads had bigger ports as well.
