I'm replacing the ABS control module on my ABS system and I need to know whether these two parts might be interchangable:

F9ZZ-2C219-EA - ABS control module/traction - 2000 Cobra
F9ZZ-2C219-CA - ABS control module/traction - 2000 GT

The numbers are almost exactly the same, and the modules look identical.

Does anyone know whether I could use the Cobra one on my GT?

I just won the item on eBay, so I'm screwed if they aren't compatible...

Man, you are probably going to need an actual Ford tech to answer that one. Luckily there are some around here, hopefully they will notice this thread...

I hope someone can help me... I tried calling Ford here and they don't know anything. Everything looks the same, including the connector and they're both made by Bosch... The only difference I can see is that here they are charging $1300CDN for it, and the one I got on eBay is $200US.

I don't know about these, but I do know that the suffix is one of the most important pieces of the part number. The "2C219" says that it is just an ABS module. The "CA" or the "EA" tells specifically which ABS module it is.

Just as a guess, I think the GT had just ABS and the Cobra had ABS/TC, back in 2000?

It's funny, I looked at sites on how to decifer the part numbers and most of the sites said the last 1-2 characters only signify the revision # of the part.

Maybe some of them just had ABS, but mine has ABS/TC... hmm... Well the part is on its way so I guess I'll find out if it works soon enough.

Just as another example, the flasher module for a V6/GT is F67B-13350-AA and for a Cobra is F67B-13350-BA. The "-AA" is for 3 bulb (1 front, 2 rear) signals and the "-BA" is for 2 bulbs (1 front, 1 rear) signals. They aren't interchangeable... well, not if you want it to work right.

Yeah, I see what you mean... I think that the GT's ABS/TC system is practically the same as the Cobra's ABS/TC system..? Hopefully by some miracle the module will work on my car... If not I've got an expensive paperweight (unless I can find someone to sell it to).

I wouldnt risk it, the cobra should have bigger brakes and that might effect the entire abs system... just a thought, the ABS system could be completely different also...
