Oil Pressure, and Water Temp are the main aftermarket gauges I only really need right? Are these two pretty straight foward to install, there electrical. What about the fuel pressure gauge is that a hard one to install, is the fuel rail version much cheaper and easier?

thanks a lot!

If you are not running any power adder, I would not waste the $$ on the FP Gauge for now..

If you want 2, the WT and OP are it.!

If you mount them together, you can splice the power source line, the light dimmer line, and the ground line together, then connect them to a single source.

Then, each sending wire will go to it's respective place....
You will get an Oil sending unit that replaces the stock one near the oil filter, and connect the sending wire to IT.

You will get a water temp sending unit that will either replace the stock one in the lower intake just to the right of the distributor, OR you can get an after market water neck that has a screwhole in the top to install a sending unit.

Since the one in the intake is more accurate, I installed the Autometer one in the intake, and move the stock one to the top of the waterneck in the screwhole provided, just to have both working..

Ill find a couple of pics to post for you.

could you run the stock guage also off the autometer sender?? or does the voltage get screwed having to see 2 guages? I am looking into getting a water/n2o inside and a FP outside by spring and wanted to know if the same sender could work both stock and autometer guages?

Also there are 2 ranges of temp guages offerd in autometer's line, looking at the 2 1/16 elec. elec. guage, which one is best? or is one a full sweep elec. and one not?

dont run two gauges off one sender. best case, each reading would be cut in half. if each gauge is calibrated differently (likely), they would just plain be off by an unguessable amount.

for water temp gauge, what one could do: put the new gauge in the stock location. in the rear of the lower intake on the driver side, there is an unused port (on foxes, atleast). relocate the stock sender for the stock temp gauge back there. that location is less accurate but atleast it works and the gauge is not dead.
some also use thermostat housings, etc as a location for a sender.

good luck.

yeah if you goto auto zone and get a new waterneck, it comes with a fitting that has a threaded plug on the top, its only 8$, and it includes the gasket. i got the one for a fox cause thats all they had, but its the same.
