I am helping a buddy replace his AOD tomorrow with one I recently pulled from my car when I did my conversion . My question is about the converter , how much fluid should be in there , I noticed what appeared to be a fill hole next to one of the bolts that hold the converter to the flexplate , is this where you fill it?

Pour a quart in there before installing the converter into the trans. Once the tranny is installed add about 5 quuarts start it foro about 3-5 seconds, and 3 more then restart and run through the gears. If all gears are engaging,, take for a ride to get tranny up to temp and check fluid level. Add as nessecary..

if the converter is completely dry, yea you can add about a quart, or a little less just to get the clutches wet. dont add any more because if you do, its just goin to spill all over the place when you are trying to spline it to then input shaft.
