Just switched to RP Synchromax, followed these instructions:

http://www.stangpro.com/html/tutorials/other/transfluid.htm

It was very simple, except for the fact that about after 3.8-4.0 quarts not a single drop of fluid ran out of the fill hole. Ive heard 3.2, 3.8, and fill it til it runs out of the fill hole. wtf is it?

Im not driving the bitch hard, and if need be I'll drain a half quart out tomorrow morning.

1-2 notchiness is still notiecable but very subtle. 2-3, 3-4 are crisp and smooth. Highly recommend the Synchromax.

Oh, and F'k the search function, I'll just get more of the 3 answers Ive already heard. Where's Mike?

well it hasnt blown up, yet. I think it will be fine. The whine is gone and 1-2 gets smoother every time I take it out. 2-3, 3-4 are like budda

But I hear the 4R70W > 3650, so I guess I just wasted $35 on tranny fluid.

oh,........thanks

Didn't you replace the TOB when you did your clutch? Or have you done all of that yet?

No, the McLeod clutch is still sitting under my coffee table. I dont see the need to replace the stocker if its still working. Might as well get what I can out of it.

I'm using Synchromax and was told to get rid of it and put the ATF back in. How come???? I thought the general consensus was synchromax is awesome and the best we can run. I'm running the Pennzoil Synchromax if it makes any difference.

Here's a recent post with a TSB including fluid levels in the T3650 from the Mach 1 section. I have used 3.0L (3.2 quarts), which I see is now listed in the TSB, in mine for the the last 30,000 miles and have had no problems whatsoever.

So, from reading this post, it is okay for the 3650's to be filled anywhere from 3.2 to 4 quarts. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I may as well fill mine with 4 qts. I feel that, more fluid=better.

More fluid is not alsways better; too much in a T3650 can play a role in the 2-3 gear lockout some have experienced (including me before I changed/lowered it).
