Hello Guys,

Real quick when putting in NOS system, with the WOT under the gas pedel, how do you inform the car's computer that you are running NOS? I mean after arming the system how does the car know when the NOS is running or not running? How does the car know to retard timing? I bought a used Nitrious system off a guy who ran it on his mustang but it doens't look like the system comes with a computer brain to tell the car what to do. Any help would be great.

!996 is the car year, and it is a wet kit. I have installed a larger fuel pump in the tank to handle the extra load (have a bunch of other mods) but still not sure how the car supposed to know the difference from being armed? and receiving juice?

i always thought for all the nitrous systems they just put it in, and the rest depends on the computer reading the a/f ratio from the exhaust and correcting based on that.
most kits just come with a lot of safety switches on the solenoids so you wont break something.

i run a ghetto nitrous system with only venom bottle, nos solenoid/lines, and just push the button.
i looked at a NOS diagram for their kits, and the only other thing they had was another solenoid to cut off the nitrous if there was something wrong with the fuel supply (forget, it was fuel pressure or something?)

Under wot, the computer is not reading off of the O2 sensors anymore, its going off of tables. Im pretty sure that a wet kit should be adding fuel as well as nitrous into the intake when its activated, and a dry kit needs a chip.

I am not sure. It seems ot me you need to retard timing somehow, or something. Can nitrious really be runned without the car really knowing about it?

With a wet kit timing is not retarded, and the extra fuel is added to avoid a lean condition. I suggest you take your chip out because a POS Jet chip advances timing and you'll blow your engine. With your setup I would suggest getting to a tuner and getting a flip chip. With that you can have a N/A setting and a nitrous setting with reduced timing.

Here's one quick semi related question for you guys. I am going to be installing a NX wet kit can I use the stock intake set up or should I get a CAI

You can use the stock intake.
