Quick oil question.

Guys I have a question about oil that has sat in the pan all winter.

If I start it up with the oil that is in there will it cause any issues or am I being paranoid?

The backyard is way too wet to jack it up to get under it, and it is going to rain again on the weekend. I was hoping to get it on the road today but I can't get the oil changed.

You shouldn't have any problems with it. Did you change it before you parked it? The only thing that may have happened would be condensation in the oil but there wouldn't be too much. Go fire that beast up! Change it when you get a chance.

You should do what I do each year for the "first start". I pull all the plugs on the coil packs and spin the engine over a couple seconds,a couple times. Kinda like priming the pump before giving it the full go. I'm know I'm still turning the engine over but I fell better turning it over slow for a couple seconds,rather than letting it run at a high idle for a couple seconds with no oil.

Yeah that is what I figured. With the blower on there I am a little parinoid.

I guess I will have it fired up and plated tomorrow.

I fired mine up on Wednesday and took it to school then changed to Mobil 1 5w30.

I alway run Mobil 1 so I really think it is a non-issue. But there was alwas that nagging voice in the back of my mind.

I fired mine up for the first time the other day.Once it warmed up I let it idle for a while with the oil filler cap off just to let any accumulated condensation escape easier.

Definitely let it warm up before you drive it to boil any condensation out. Other than that, you should be fine.
