LOVE the satin black. What did you use, exactly, for the paint? I'm debating whether to redo my notch in gloss black, or if I should just do it up in satin (not flat - too chalky) because it's near impossible to fight water spots on black paint where I live...

Throw on some different wheels (10-holes, mayhaps) and a stock wing, and that thing is spooge-worthy!

Thanks everyone, I agree the wheels have to go they do not fill out the fender-flares properly, I have some ten holes, but I need some cash to get some new rubber on them and I would like to polish them up some too. I am still running the bubble hatch, so not many wings for that...I kind of have a soft spot for the bubble hatch. for the paint I used rustoleum protective enamel thinned to the point where it would spray nicely, then I just used a gravity feed paint gun that I got from harbor freight for 10 bucks (on sale from 30 i think) and it sprayed very well, after I got it adjusted properly.

Schweeeeet. Was it a satin-finish Rustoleum, or was it just something in the way that you sprayed it that gave it the satin look?

How we gonna critisize that man? It'll look mean as hell once you get some real wheels on there!

You've really gotta keep us up to date on how well that holds up. I've been thinking about doing mine in satin black for some time now since it's a long way off that i get a real paint job.

I bought a spray gun from Harbor Freight for 14 bucks....and I have to admit, it rivals my good gun that I use. I only bought the 14 dollar gun to spray Urethane Primer. I hate putting that thick stuff through my good gun.

VERY nice! i almost did that with my car, but it would have been gloss black with a hazed clearcoat..giving that old school satin look..Also join foureyedpride.com if you havent already, they would love that capri!

I was thinking gloss black with a polished lip to set them off a little.

probably do that with the 10 holes I have laying around for the time being, maybe some polished center-caps too. we'll see.

FWIW, I sprayed my old 10-holes with some VHT High-Temp Brake Caliper paint, and they've held up quite well over time (only had one wheel flake in a couple of spots from my sloppy prep work). Frankenstang's running them now on her '86 GT 'vert. The paint's supposed to be gloss black, but they come out to more of a satin black, which would go nicely with the rest of your paint scheme. Give it a shot, and if it doesn't work for ya', you can always just sand 'em back down and respray 'em...
