When installing the full length unit, I used both elbow pieces and installed the filter in the "down" position on my 03 GT. I didnt have anything to use to more firmly secure the elbow piece thats attached to the air filter to the elbow piece that attaches to the MAF. The two pieces simply fit together pretty snugly, and the whole unit was pretty solid. My question is, should there be screws connecting the two elbow pieces at the cover plate? Im a little worried I may hit a pothole or something and jar the thing loose. I drove the car around for a bit once I was finished and there were no problems, but I still thought I'd ask just to be sure. Thanks for your help.

yes, theirs a hole on the outer rim for you to put a screw in. better do it before you drive down the road and it falls off.

It was getting dark last night when I put everything together, so I didnt notice the screw holes. I only found two of the holes, at least the two that I could see and I found two screws with screw caps in the bottom of the box. I screwed those in pretty easily so Im assuming everything lined up. The air filter sits down in the fenderwell and doesnt contact anything. The whole unit feels pretty rock-solid so Im assuming its ok. Thanks for your input
