Quick Question on CAI/Tuner/OCTANE!

Have one simple question.....

Just got a C&L intake and Predator tuner.
I have a little over half a tank of 87 Octane fuel in the car right now.

To be safe, I installed the 87oct tune on the car.
What I want to know is:
Can I install the CAI and C&L tune tonight,
even though there is more than half a tank of 87 in the car?
Or should I wait til the car is down to E, then fill 93 and install the CAI/Tune?

I'd run it down to m/t and refill with the good stuff. Run that down to m/t as well and refill to make sure you're on 93 octane before installing the CAI and tune.

run ONE full tank of the 93 octane FIRST let that run down to E completely then fill again with 93 and install and load the tune. You dont want pinging and crappy acceleration under a load !
 
If the Predator came loaded with only one C&L tune, then it may be a 91 octane tune.(That's how it worked a while back. I haven't been keeping up with DiabloSport's tunes since I switched to a BamaChip's tune.) You should be able to check this either in the Predator instructions, or by contacting DiabloSport.
If the C&L tune is for 91 octane, and you want to use it with the C&L CAI and 87 octane gas, then you can retard the global timing by 4 degrees with the Predator. But I suggest using up as much of the remaining 87 octane as possible with the 87 tune installed, fill up with 91 octane, use that up, fill up again with 91 octane, and install the C&L CAI and the C&L tune.
Also, the 87 tune may be designed for the stock air intake. If so, then you don't want to use it with the C&L CAI. Otherwise, the engine will run lean, and the ECU will throw a CEL.
Finally, do not use and octane boost in these cars!!! It will foul the plugs, the engine will run like crap, and the plugs will have to be replaced.
