Whenever I run into problems
And I can't figure out what
ie wrong. I look for the instructions
and find out what is wrong.

I know there is a POWER on all the time
to keep the stations saved.

I know there is an IGN which is on when
the car is running.

I know there is a 12 Volts to operate the
DISPLAY so that it Dims with the DASH.

These are not on the same harness.

Other than that tere are speaker wires
and sometimes PRE AMP ins and outs.

Good luck

Red and yellow wires off the back of the head unit have to both go to your constant power. try that if its not already connected that way

Normally the red wire is your constant power and yellow is your ignition power that turns the radio on and provides power for the backlight. Does the radio play or just take and eject CD's?? If it doesn't play than you may not have good connection to the ignition power or a blown fuse as both lines usually have their own inline fuse. Could also have a problem with the harness. Check the wiring skematic that came with the radio and check power coming through harness on appropriate wire without it connected to radio.

Hope that helps

They make snap in kits that require no splicing. Go to circuit city and get one, then you'll know it's wired pefect and you don't have to worry about it coming apart. They're about $10.00
