Anyone have any experience with a quick ratio steering rack? I'm looking at AGR's quick ratio (15:1) rack to replace my stock rack which has a bad valve. So any feedback about the quick ratio rack or AGR products in general would be appreciated .

Thanks
Dave

Wait, does this mean that you can turn the steering wheel less and the wheels will turn more?

Yeah, I believe stock is 2.5 turns lock to lock and this one is 2.25 or less turns lock to lock. Stock is a 20:1 ratio.

Isn't that the A/F ratio (just kidding). Why do you want it faster?

I have the quick ratio 15:1 rack and pinion.

I bought mine from steeda. It does just what it says. It allows you to turn the wheel from lock to lock with less degrees of turning. I replaced mine cause I was replacing the power steering pump. Two things I suggest for anyone who installs one is to make sure you use the suppied o-rings for the hard lines going to it (i'm not sure if I installed mine or not), and install the hard lines on the rack before you bolt up the rack to the k-member. If you try and put the hard lines on after you bolt up the rack to the k-member you will have no room to get a wrench on the fitting and you will probly be lazy and only put it on hand tight or cross tread it. There is NO ROOM around the fittings after it's bolted to the k-member. Mine leaked after I installed it. cause it was cross threaded and then I took everything off and put the hardlines on with it off the car and then it was good to go after I put it on AND used lucas power steering stop leak on it.

Depending on what you have you already have the 15:1 rack. It was the stock rack on GT's and I'm not sure but maybe all of the 5.0's. The four and six cylinder cars ended up with the 20:1 rack. The 15:1 is really what you want so either you will end up with a stock replacement or a nice upgrade, mine started out at a 2.3 liter 4 so that was one of my first upgrades with the suspension.
