It may actually make matters worse. The quick steer kit consists of longer by an inch idler and pitman arms.
Was the pitman arm removed prior to installing the headers? Mine was installed inverted and hit my Tri Y headers. I pulled it off and flipped it over, then there was plenty of clearance.
I could try and take a photo of my steering linkage and Tri Y if it will help. I would have to email you the photo, let me know........
