quick trany question

just to make sure..

ok i need to know if you used a 4 cyl t-5 for a v8 you just need to swap out the pilot bearing? is there anything else i would have to buy or change? if so can any one tell me what? and if it is just the pilot bearing can i just use the one from the v8 t-5 ? or no.

ok I did everything awhile back. You just need to change the pilot bearing. THATS IT! everything else is the same. I got the pilot bearing off ebay for like 10 bucks. The 4cyl t-5 have a smaller input shaft but u allready knew that. The Other thing I will say is that there weak. I blew third gear right out of mine in about 2 weeks. Then I blew the input shaft gear out of another V8 t-5. If you got the cash, upgrade to a World class t-5. there well worth the money. Haven't blown mine up yet, and Ive tried lol. holds up to everything i give it! Good luck and happy tranny breaking.

thanks for the info. id love to upgrade it but right now i think my budget it around 2-300 bucks so i guess ill just have to keep looking. im sure there is a good working t-5 in some junk yard around here for a reasonable price.
