quick vacuum line question

do the vacuum lines that go into the fender go under the dash?

I think you are talking about the vac lines that are on the passenger side?? If so they go to a vac canister that is located under the splash shield in the fender well. Maybe this helps.

i went to take a look but i dont know how you take the splash shield off to get to the canister. how do you take it off?

There should be a few small screws holding the splash shield to the ground effects and a couple of push pin holders holding it to the inner frame. Look around and start on the front slowly pulling the splash shield out. Why do you need to get to the canister??

I have a vacuum leak somewhere and i can hear a whissing sound near the driver side door so hopefully thats it.

alright i took it off and found a broken vacuum line, disconnected vacuum line, and the vacuum canister in there is busted? The plastic front piece is busted off the canister and the little stub thats comes out for the vacuum line is busted off into the rubber vacuum line. so i have to get a new vacuum canister?

ok i looked again and theres a cable running to it. What is this cable?

If im right it goes to your cruise control. Look at the throttle body and see if this is the same cable that you see.It should run along the back of the engine and down into the fenderwell.

alright so does anyone know what kind of vacuum canister i need to get? Im pretty sure thats the vaccum canister its right under the splash shield and covered with a rubber cover.



Is there a vacuum canister on the other side also?
