quick vortech question

some guys have luck running the short belt...others have nothing but problems (all kinds of squealing)

I run a shortbelt (no smog, I have a/c) and my belts used to last about 3 months before they would chirp.

I took the alternator/smog bracket off and indexed the tensioner. I just drilled a 1/2" hold so I could clock the tensioner a bit more and put more tension on my belt. I can get a belt to last well over 8 months like that.

I also get a lifetime warranty on my belt so if one starts to chirp I just return it and get another one...no questions asked, haha.

Go with a smog eliminator pulley. I used the summit one with a #06102 Belt. Its a tight fit and you will need to put it on the WP last with tensioner maxed

blower belt sizes if you need
DAYCO
# 5080575 (57-1/2") for 3.33 Pully - ( Vortech # 2A048-575 )
# 5080565 (56-1/2") for 2.95 Pully
# 5080560 (56") for 2.75 Pully

excellent info man. thanks a lot for that. saves me test fitting belts when i switch pulleys soon. question though, is that with a/c?
